Nik Nason is founder of Solemn Nights, with over 14 years experience within the tattoo industry. Nik specialises in Colour, Surrealism, Abstract and Realism. 

Art has been my passion since I was very young. I would always be drawing still life and landscapes before the world of tattooing caught my eye.

Over the years I have worked at numerous studios, conventions and festivals all over England, I have worked with incredible artists gathering new skills and knowledge along the way.
My goal is to take ‘Solemn Nights’ to new levels. Travelling to conventions across Europe, seeking opportunities to collaborate with other artists to continue learning and growing.

In addition to being a tattoo artist , I have taken my artistry back to where I began as a child by developing my Fine Art skills. Currently studying the European Baroque era of Fine Art such as Caravaggio and Rembrandt and studied a foundation course in classical art at London Fine Art Studios to develop a better understanding of the old masters such as John Singer Sargent and Philip de Laszlo’s techniques and traditional methods in charcoal and oil paint. My goal in the Fine Arts is to learn from the best to be the best and have my work in galleries and exhibitions. 

Recently I have become a ‘Sullen Family Uk’ Artist and being represented by Sullen Clothing UK is one of my biggest achievements so far as they’re the biggest and most recognised tattoo company in the world and they have worked with the most elite artists in the world, so I’m incredibly honoured to be part of that.
